Our activities

Created "Road transport and operational qualities of scientific research laboratory" at Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automotive Roads at department of "Construction and Maintenance of Highways and Aerodromes" within "HIGHVEC" project.


 


August 31-September 02, 2016. The project coordination meeting took place at University of Birmingham. During the meeting the project partners from Uzbekistan and EU have presented their achieved results and anticipated plans for the coming academic year including extension period of one year and discussed syllabi of the courses planned to develop within highway and vehicle engineering domains. The achieved results and outcomes of the project have found by the project steering committee to be satisfactory and according to the original project application with appropriate adjustments due to delayed launch of the project.
Also, the project partners have visited to labs and met PhD and post graduate students studying in mechanical and civil engineering areas at the University of Birmingham.


 


July 11 - 17, 2016. Study visit at University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, Romania in Vehicle engineering" for researchers and teachers from Tashkent Automobile Road institute, Jizzakh Polytechnic institute and Andijan machine building institute. At the Study visit lectures and laboratories were facilitated by professors Gabriel ANGHELACHE, Raluca MOISESCU, Iordan FILERU, Dan Micu, Marius Toma and Catalin Iota specialist in technical devices and hardware from Bosch company in Romania.


 


June 20 - July 1, 2016. Study visit at the Polytechnic of Castelo Branco in "Highway engineering" for researchers and teachers from Tashkent Automobile Road, Jizzakh Polytechnic, Samarkand State Architecture-Construction Institute, Karakalpak State University. They attended in two intensive courses - "GIS Technology" and "Road Construction and Road Maintenance Quality Control". The lectures were facilitated by Professors Jose Mocito, Francisco Lucas and Dinis Gardete from the department of Civil engineering.


April 20, 2016. At AMI - Andijan, a local coordination meeting took place with the project team members and vice-rector of Scientific issues and academic lyceums. Besides, there was a presentation of prof. Eshkabilov in the plenary session of the conference taken place in the Andijan Machine Building Institute about the project and its anticipated milestones.


During the local coordination meeting most of the key issues of the project administration, activities (academic and dissemination), capacity building actions (English language and training visits to EU partner universities and training courses in Uzbek partner universities), project equipment (hardware, software, books) and financial issues (including co-financing) have been discussed in details. Also, the issues concerning team building and project dissemination questions are well addressed.


April 15, 2016. At KSU - Nukus, a local coordination meeting took place with the project team members and vice-rector of Scientific issues and a rector on April 15, 2016. During the meeting all key issues of the project administration, activities (academic and dissemination), capacity building actions (English language and training visits to EU partner universities and training courses in Uzbek partner universities), project equipment (hardware, software, books) and financial issues (including co-financing) have been discussed in details.


April 14, 2016. At JPI - Jizzakh, a local coordination meeting took place with the project team members and head of international relations office. During the meeting many essential issues of the project administration/coordination, activities (academic and dissemination), capacity building actions (English language and training visits to EU partner universities and training courses in Uzbek partner universities), curriculum development aspects, project equipment (hardware, software, books) and financial issues (including co-financing) have been discussed in details.

Also, at JPI, a short work-shop in "MATLAB/Simulink essentials for engineering problem solving" for researchers and teachers was facilitated by prof. Eshkabilov.


April 13, 2016. At SACI - Samarkand, a local coordination meeting took place with the project team members and vice-rector of Scientific issues and head of international relations office on April 13, 2016. During the meeting all key issues of the project administration/coordination, activities (academic and dissemination), capacity building actions (English language and training visits to EU partner universities and training courses in Uzbek partner universities), project equipment (hardware, software, books) and financial issues (including co-financing) have been discussed in details.


March 16, 2016. Coordination meeting of the HIGHVEC project took place at the IPCB - Castello Branco. All key issues of the project work-plan and achieved results were discussed and action plans for the next quarter were made. Most of the academic partner institutions were represented in the meeting.


February 22 - 26, 2016. March 2, 2016. Mrs. Audrone Perkauskiene (Deputy Head of the Department for Central Asia of the European External Action Service), Mr. Radoslaw Darski (Head of Political, Press and Information Section of the EU delegation to Uzbekistan) and Mr. Raimondis Vingris (political advisor from Office of the EUSR for Central Asia) have visited to the Labs created within EC TEMPUS - MACH and HIGHVEC projects and completed EC TEMPUS projects - ENGITEC (2012-2015), NCCAD(2006-2010) and ITEDU (2003-2005). Also, there were broad discussions on impact and sustainability of the project outcomes and new directions of the EC funded programs such as E+ and Horizon 2020.



 


 

January 25 - February 25, 2016.

Study visit at University of Birmingham, UK in "Highway engineering" for researchers and teachers from Tashkent Automobile Road, Jizzakh Polytechnic, Samarkand State Architecture-Construction Institute. They attended in two intensive courses - "Road asset management" and "Pavement Engineering". The lectures were facilitated by Professors Michael Burrow, Harry Evdorides from the department of Civil engineering and Mr Steve Batcher -engineer from the industry.






 

December 09-17, 2015.

Workshop in "Vehicle engineering" for researchers and teachers from Tashkent Automobile Road, Jizzakh Polytechnic institute, Andijan machine building institute, JV MAN Auto - Uzbekistan LLC GM Uzbekistan and Ministry of Higher and Secondary specialized education. The workshop lectures were facilitated by professors Daniel Garcia-Pozuelo Ramos, Maria Jesus, Beatriz Lopez Boada, Leandro Vargas, Alejandro Quesada Gonzalez from department of Mechanical engineering of Carlos III university of Madrid in Spain.




 

August 26-27, 2015

There was a kick off meeting of the HIGHVEC project at TARI - Uzbekistan. The project partners from the EU and Uzbekistan presented their institutions and their action plans within next 12 months of the project implementation. The partners have discussed the renewed project work-plan on study visits, equipment and budget distribution issues.




 

November 12, 2014

The field monitoring visit (FM) of the National Erasmus Office (former National TEMPUS Office) coordinator - Mrs. Aziza Abdurakhmanova and expert - Mr. Igor Vikrov to TARI too place. During the FM meeting, they met the project team members  and university rector  - Mr. Madamin Aripdjanov from TARI and discussed with them their achieved tangible and intangible outcomes of the project despite the fact that project funding was not opened yet. Also, during the meeting importance and expected impact of the project in the short and long terms in the areas of highway and road construction engineering and vehicle engineering are discussed.  During the discussions and meetings, a road map of the next project actions to launch the project is discussed. Similar visits and discussions are planned at four other Uzbek partner universities located in four regions.
